Fine Art Orchids
Artist Tracy Ellyn's many orchid series' exemplify her use of 19th, 20th and 21st century techniques all within one piece. Each individual work might contain cyanotype, drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, writing, technology and more, layered into a finished image, like chapters in a book, creating a holistic approach to past, present and future.
The growing of her own plants in her artwork makes it come more alive, becoming a more personal, nurturing experience as part of the narrative.

Orchid Photography
Tracy's love for orchids began during her travels to Japan in the 1980s, and continued during the annual International Orchid Shows at the lobbies of the World Trade Center in New York. Orchids have symbolized purity and elegance since ancient times, as well as fertility and, of course, love.
The growing of her own orchids in her artwork makes it come more alive, becoming a more personal, nurturing experience as part of the narrative.
